Use Kooser's poem as inspiration!
Write a 7-line poem that finds satisfaction in the ordinary on a special day. You don't need to use reading a book on your birthday--watering plants on Valentine's Day, brushing your hair on the first day of college, etc. are all fine. Kooser's lyric poem uses the word "but" to great effect--see if you can also get a turn in your poem.
