Please read today's poem on my blog: "Holding Vigil" by Alison Luterman (published on the Rattle website on November 3, 2024).
Then go here and watch/re-watch the video of The Beatles singing "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" on The Ed Sullivan Show. You should especially do this if you were not alive when The Beatles were a group, don't know who Ed Sullivan was, and haven't a clue as to why I named this prompt after one of their songs.
If you want another blast from the past, check out a rememberance of Hands Across America at History.
You have probably already guessed what today's prompt is: holding hands! No matter what your medium, include hand holding in some way in your piece. Like so many things, this small act seems tiny and common but is also powerful and rich with meaning.
Alsion Luterman's poem, the song by The Beatles, and learning about (or remembering) that crazy day in 1986 should give you lots of inspiration.
Have fun! Be good to yourself and others!
